Kinotita

Kinotita is a feminist platform for artists, practicitioners and composers working with plural voices, groups and communities. Initiated by Myriam Van Imschoot and Elisa Kühnl, it brings together hybrid artists whose work moves between performance, ritual, experimental music, sound poetry, radio, recording practices and sonic activism. What connects them is an expanded idea of sonic composition that embraces situations and social relations as generative forces.

Kinotita focuses on the art of making sound works within groups. As a rotating platform between Belgium, France and Germany, it provides space to exchange methods, experiment and create collectively while making visible forms of labour that often remain under-recognised: care, mediation, transmission and the long-term work of sustaining communities. Its feminist position is both artistic and structural, asking who gets to compose, whose voices are heard, and what conditions make collective creation possible.

From 2026 to 2028, Kinotita is undertaking a trajectory with 6 core-members and their guests to learn more about experimental pedagogy and co-creation. It involves Youyou Group and Glossa, a choir of Schwankhalle Bremen Theater, and local choirs in Iceland. The first creation Titans is conceived as a toolbox performance. After its première at Kanal Centre Pompidou it will carry scores, methods, vocal practices and compositional ideas to future contexts across Europe.
