Info
SESSIONS are temporary research situations in which Myriam Van Imschoot opens an artistic process to collective experimentation. A session may take the form of a score, a listening practice, a sonic intervention, a walk, a workshop or a public test.
Rather than treating research as something that happens behind closed doors, SESSIONS allow research, encounter and artistic form to overlap. Artists, students, participants and local communities enter the process at different stages, testing practices and materials that may later migrate into larger works — or acquire a life of their own.
The format became particularly pronounced in the development of Nocturnes for a Society and directly shaped its dramaturgy, materials and practices.
New series of SESSIONS are planned within an upcoming creative trajectory exploring the sounding and orchestration of cities.
