KIN

KIN is about sharing infrastructure, production knowledge and artistic concerns through alliances within and around newpolyphonies. Rather than a fixed programme or separate artistic line, it strengthens the connective tissue, amplifies artistic questions, and creates space for pilot projects.

KIN Wallet: an artist from the extended newpolyphonies network receives administrative accompaniment and advice. In previous years this has been Yasmina Reggad’s research into essayistic performances like A House Divided. An Alternative History of Pan-Arabism and development of a new performance Live. Once More. Yasmina is also a member of the YouYou Group.

KIN Coach: artistic coaching is not a service but genuinely considered an exchange with emergent artists and the laboratories and lungs of the field. Currently, KIN coaching is dedicated to Ernst Maréchal’s doctoral research on social recording at RITCS, sound artist Anne Van de Star on pneumatic systems, and CUSK collectief on their translations of science and ecology to art creation.

KIN Space: Manchester Space in Molenbeek was a commoning experiment for alternative artistic practices engaging sound, ritual and voice. Between 2023 and 2025, residents and self-organised initiatives were welcomed in the space, including Hoda Siahtiri (hosting Gnawi Lila's and residencies), Oracle (Justine Maxelon and Caroline Daish) and Eric Thielemans (hosting polyrhythm sessions). A recurring format for artists to share their work in process was Moving Pictures by Federico Protto and Anna Lügmeier.

KIN Exchange and creation: Kinotita is currently one of KIN’s most articulated cross-border projects. Founded by Myriam Van Imschoot and Elisa Kühnl, it is a feminist platform bringing together the expertise of flinta* composers with plural voices and larger groups.Together with core members Anne-Laure Pigache, Doreen Kutzke, Jule Flierl and Anissa Rouas for YouYou Group, they enter frequently in dialogue with guests such as Natascha Muslera and Myriam Pruvot.

Kinotita asks how the often dispersed knowledge of groups as creative and social environments can become more transferable and mutually reinforcing, while fostering intergenerational and inter-ensemble solidarity.
